Guarding Our Speech
Colossians 4:8 “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”  

Christians, like all people, have the chance to positively or negatively impact the people with whom they come in contact. There are many simple things that Christians can (and should) do which help them to be set apart from the world.  By standing out in the world, Christians may have the opportunity to share the gospel with others.  A Christian’s speech should show an amazing contrast to worldly speech.  In 1 Timothy 4:12 Paul encourages the young Timothy: “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”

We have resumed all services in-person at our regular times, although we are continuing to live stream our services for those whose health or situation prevents them from attending in person. 
Face coverings are currently RECOMMENDED, though not required.  This is subject to change based on the status of Bell County. .

– Teen Tuesday & Thrilling Thursday will not take place this week.
– Back to School Teen Huddle, August 21st after Evening Services at Tyler’s house.  Ages 6th – 12th grade welcome! 
Boys please bring drinks, girls please bring desserts.
– All ladies are invited to a Mediterranean Cooking Class at Over
the Plate in Temple on August 27th, starting at 5:00pm. Please
see the sign-up sheet in the foyer for more information, including cost. Payment is due by August 13th!
– Men’s Breakfast will resume meeting on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of the month, the first being 11th of August at 8:00am at Papa’s Cafe in Harker Heights.  For the first one, please sign up if you are going, to plan for space.
– BOSS (Brothers of Southside) Group is needing meet-up and fellowship ideas. Please see Will Curtis if you have ideas for BOSS!
Senior Saints meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month in the Fellowship Hall.  Please bring your brown-bag lunch and a game!
